WHEN
July 16 & 17, 9am - 12pm

WHAT
A two-day puppet making and performance workshop where kids build a cast of puppets, write a script, and film a commercial starring their creations that celebrates the vibrant and diverse community that makes up the North Fork.

WHO
Simple Mischief Studio is a kids media production company co-founded by social worker Grace Townley and Muppet puppeteer Spencer Lott focusing on live action puppet production that instills compassion and curiosity in kids.

Carly Ciarrocchi is a kids media personality, producer, songwriter, and storyteller dedicated to uplifting kids with work that includes her Emmy-nominated performances on Universal Kids, the Disney+ series Weird But True, and podcasts for Story Pirates, Wondery, and Pinna.

Together, Simple Mischief and Carly will lead this workshop with infectious enthusiasm and boundless creativity. The result of the workshop will be a video project: Tube Town, North Fork!

WAIT, WHAT?
Tube Town is an interactive, in-person, crafting-and-improv workshop that encourages kids and families to use (and reuse) everyday items (namely cardboard tubes) and heaps of imagination to create characters, stories, and worlds that reflect their lives. Tube Town, North Fork will be tailored to the people and communities of the east end of Long Island. Students will craft puppets, buildings, roads and more to fill out their tube town! They will create a story that reflects their lives on the North Fork and bring it to life in a “commercial” that promotes all the awesomeness of Tube Town, North Fork!

Sponsorships available for students in need. Please email info@northfork-artscenter.org with a request.
