Just as we get settled back into the school groove BAM we’re hit with a break. But don’t worry, we’ve rounded up four diverse programs and events across the North Fork to keep the kids busy during next week’s October break.

For the kids who want to spend time in nature

Turtleback Environmental Education Center is hosting its“OOO!” Outdoor October Outings program on Thursday, 10/3, Friday, 10/4, and again on Monday, 10/14 for children ages 5 to 12. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., your child can explore North Fork nature with themed days and lessons. The program will take place at Bailie Beach in Mattituck and led by naturalist, Jennifer Murray. The cost is $80/day for each student. More information and register here.

For the kids who love the spotlight

Cabaret Kids Theatre Camp hosted by The Church of the Redeemer in Mattituck is the perfect option for kids in grades 1st through 8th who are looking to explore skits, improv, music, and theater. This two-day, non-religious camp is held on Thursday, 10/3, and Friday 10/4 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. and costs $195. Family discounts for two or more children are available.
