Sandy Falls Mini Golf opens in Riverhead

Conveniently located less than a mile from the Riverhead traffic circle, Sandy Falls Miniature Golf Course is the newest North Fork family-friendly attraction.

“Sandy Pond Links is a 9-hole, par-3 golf course that has expanded to include an 18-hole mini golf course which we named Sandy Falls Mini Golf,” said Sandy Pond Links Media Director, Sharon Truland.

The mini golf course, which opened in mid-September and expects to stay open through November and then reopen for the season next spring, is an ideal outing for families with children of all ages.

“We saw a need for families to have a clean, safe, fun, and affordable place to play and come together as families,” Sharon shared. “Mini golf is suitable for all ages and skill levels, so everyone can participate and enjoy themselves.”

Upon stepping foot on the pristine grounds, you’ll notice that this mini golf course is visually unlike the rest. Gimmicky animations and colorful obstacles are left out. Instead, at Sandy Falls, you’ll find an expertly manicured course featuring natural materials and a touch of East End icons.

“Mini Golf courses often offer themes and we kept with water since we are on the East End. The waterfalls and streams create a playful environment, but most of all, it encourages families to spend time together in a relaxed setting, helping families talk and laugh together,” added Sharon.

In addition to being family-friendly, Sandy Pond Links welcomes events of all sizes to its par-3 course and Sandy Falls Mini Golf.

“We have had local high school teams come for bonding practices, and at present we are having parents booking us for birthday parities and people having family reunions here,” Sharon told us.

Another space that families enjoy before or post-play is the waiting area located just outside of the mini golf course featuring picnic tables, Adirondack chairs, games such as foosball, tic tac toe, Connect Four, cornhole, and more.

Additionally, Sharon shared that there are plans for food trucks on some weekends through the rest of the season and “plans for a new clubhouse in 2026 with expanded seating and food services.”

Sandy Pond Links is open year-round and Sandy Falls Mini Golf is open through November from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays (with admission at 8:45 p.m.,) and 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays, (with last admission at 7 p.m.)

The cost to play is $16/adult and $12/child under the age of 16. $10 replays for all. The par-3 course is also open to children and costs $16/senior, $20/adult, and $14/children ages 12 and under. Reservations are not accepted, call 631-660-8368 for wait times.
