Although the word “influencer” always rubbed me the wrong way, “tastemaker” and “curator” both feel at home. After all, sharing some of my favorite things and places is one of the reasons why Petite North Fork was created.

Make yardwork a family affair

You know those things that you buy for your kids that you know they’ll be excited for but you’re also really excited to use as well? This wheelbarrow is that type of thing. Not only is it fully functional, easy to maneuver, and sturdy but it is also the perfect size for weeding the garden and enticing them to get involved too!

Daisy Baseball Cap
Truth: My daughter has worn or tried to wear this flowery adornment every single day since purchasing this super cute cap from White Flower Farmhouse. Did we have to lie to her and tell her that her hair, like plants, needs to see sunlight to grow? Yes. Do we feel a tiny bit bad about it? Also yes. Do I still highly suggest you purchase this for your flower-loving kid? ABSOLUTELY!

Color and calm
Be Kind Coloring Poster by Creative Crayons Workshop
Whether you take this giant 3’x6’ coloring poster outside on a sunny afternoon or hoard it for a cozy day indoors, it will keep your crew engaged in the calm of coloring for longer than you’d expect. Although we spent most of our spring break outdoors, we kept this poster laid out inside our home with a big container of markers, crayons, and colored pencils next to it and were surprised at how much time we spent lying on the floor coloring together. Sidenote: great for grown-ups too!

Scoping it all out
Kids Binoculars by Scotamalone
We keep two sets of these handy and sharp binoculars on our window ledge year-round for the quick convenience of watching squirrels hang upside down from the bird feeders, a close-up look at the garbage truck picking up trash at the neighbor's house, and our resident groundhog trying to sneak into our garden Peter Rabbit-style. They are consistently one of the most used items in our home.
