10 Spring break camps and workshops for your North Fork kid

PSA: Spring Break (for many!) is t-minus five days away, but don’t worry — here are 10 camps, workshops, and events to keep your North Fork kid engaged during the downtime.

Sharpen your Soccer Skills with North Fork United Soccer Club

At this spring break camp, which runs from Monday, April 14 through Thursday, April 17, (makeup date Friday, April 18) from 9:30 a.m. until 12 p.m., athletes can expect expert coaching from certified trainers, skill-building drills and exercises, fun mini-games and challenges, team-building activities, exciting tournaments and matches, and more. The four-day camp is located at the Southold Town Rec. Center fields in Peconic and is open to children of all skill levels, birth years 2010 through 2017. Groups will be sorted by age and ability. Get Fancy and Have Fun at Bella Anima Parties

Visit Bella Anima Parties located within The Shoppes at East Wind in Wading River any weekday during spring break, Monday, April 14 through 18, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., for a one-hour session of glam, including hair tinsel, braids, manicures, glitter tattoos, makeup, bracelet making, and lemonade. One-day Environmental Conservation Camp with Turtleback Farm 

Calling all nature-loving kids! Register your 5 through 12-year-olds (plus CITs ages 13 and 14) in Turtleback Environmental Education Center’s one-day spring break camp scheduled for Monday, April 14, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Campers will focus on conservation projects to celebrate Earth Day during this one-day camp. Art Journaling and Tab Album Assembling at Crafts on the Move

Aquebogue crafting studio, Crafts on the Move, is offering two workshops over the spring break to keep your kids creating. On Friday, April 18, at 1 p.m., crafters ages 10 and up can gather to customize their own mini tag art album. This workshop costs $47.99/crafter. Then, on Saturday, April 19, children ages 10 and up can discover the world of art journaling. This workshop begins at 9:30 a.m. and costs $36.99/crafter. To learn more and register, visit here.

Spring Fun-Cation at Long Island Aquarium

Let your kids spend their break enjoying marine life and aquatic adventures at the Long Island Aquarium’s full week, full day (9 a.m. to 5 p.m.) spring break camp. Kids, ages 5 to 11, will tour the aquarium, feed the sting rays, catch a sea lion show, visit the arcade, watch a movie, make crafts, and more. Ceramic Painting Workshop by So Sweet Sentimental at The Little Nook Bookstore

Register your children (ages 4+) for a painting workshop on Tuesday, April 15 at 4 p.m., held at The Little Nook Bookstore in the Shoppes at East Wind in Wading River. At this creative session, children will have the option to paint two garden or dinosaur figurines. The $35 class fee also includes a $10 credit to shop the bookstore. Decorate Modge Podge Candles at Rowan Craft Boutique

On Thursday, April 17, drop into Rowan Craft Boutique in Southold between 12 to 4 p.m. with your crew to decorate a pillar candle using festive paper and materials with a spring theme. The cost is $15/decorator and the session is open to people of all ages. No RSVP or registration needed.

April Break Camp with Themed Days by Riverhead Parks and Rec.

In this classic camp setting, children in grades K through 6 will play active games, enjoy themed days, spend time outside, play board games, and more. This camp is offered Monday, April 14 through Thursday, April 17 from 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. and is located at the George Young Community Center in Jamesport. The full week costs $264/resident, $300/non-resident, or $75/day for residents, $85/day for non-residents. Register here.

Create-Your-Own Terrarium Workshop by Imaginariums by Elissa at the Mattituck Laurel Library

On Thursday, April 17, from 3 to 4:15 p.m., children of all ages and their parents are invited by the Southold Mother’s Club to create their own terrarium with Imaginariums by Elissa. In this workshop, kids will use moss, succulents, and natural materials to design a whimsical mini terrarium — complete with fairy and dragon figurines. Tickets cost $35/child for Southold Mothers Club members, or $45/child for non-members. Learn more and register here.

Dive into Creative Exploration with VEME Studios

This four-day spring break workshop by Greenport’s VEME Studios begins on Monday, April 14, and runs through Thursday, April 17. Within these workshops, young artists, ages 5 - 15, will be guided through a creative journey of mixed media. Each day, the workshop will spend a few moments outdoors to gather inspiration, then use a different artistic medium to transform what they observed into expressive creations.
