From tiny to teen, the Clubhouse is the North Fork’s newest place to be

The newest addition to the ever-expanding Lucharitos empire may just be our favorite venture yet. Brainchild of Lucharitos owner Marc LaMaina and his wife Jennifer LaMaina, owner and founder of Bright & Early Discoveries Daycare and Preschool, the Clubhouse pairs food with fun for all including families with kids of every age — yep, teens too.

Located in Aquebogue within the same retail development as Little Lucharitos/Good Jujus, the Clubhouse is reminiscent of a beloved resort-style kids' club where you can enjoy a meal and a drink while your kids hang out with old and new friends as they play games and have fun on their own with you nearby but not on top of them.    

“The clubhouse is my wife and I’s vision for a place our kids can go hang out and socialize before, after, or during lunch or dinner,” said Marc. “The little kids club at your favorite Caribbean resort where the kids ran off while you enjoyed some time with your significant other, that’s what we wanted it to mimic.”

In a recent interview, Marc shared that the Clubhouse idea wasn’t planned out for long. “The space behind [Good] Jujus became available and we jumped on it. It happened fast, right after we brought back a lot of the Little Lucharitos menu items to Good Jujus, so we brought back with it the Little Lucha name and added the clubhouse aspects.”

Inside the Clubhouse, vibrant colors splash the walls which are adorned with funky and fun luchador artwork of every kind. Even if you didn’t catch the sign above the door, you’ll know you’ve stepped into a Lucharitos-owned spot. 

The Clubhouse features three separate rooms. The main room has tables for noshing on food (and enjoying drinks!) from Little Lucharitos and Good Jujus and a nook with retro arcade games, most of which are set to play for free. A second room houses a pool and ping pong room with a full-sized table and a massive Plinko board handmade by North Fork designer and builder Ricky Saetta. The third space has been designed for the youngest Lucha crowd and includes giant brick blocks, mini wooden trains, sensory tables with kinetic sand, and more. 

“My wife dreamed up the collaboration of her daycare and the restaurants years ago with the idea of a company called Dinner Sitters,” Marc told us. “It’s pretty genius… supervised play from licensed childcare professionals while you enjoy dinner on the same property but far enough away to get to reconnect with your significant other over dinner and a drink.”

Marc told us that the Dinner Sitters website, where parents can view an event calendar and sign up, will be launched soon  Events will be age-specific for toddlers and up and will include free play, paint and crafts, puppets, birdhouse building, and more. The Clubhouse will also feature open house teen nights with a DJ.

For now, the Clubhouse is open for free play for any age Friday through Sunday, though the space may be accessible at additional times while the restaurant is open.

Patrons are welcome to order food and drinks from Little Lucharitos and Good Juju to enjoy inside the Clubhouse, however, table service is not currently offered.
