We deeply believe that the North Fork is the place to be year-round, but we’ll admit, the fall season truly brings its ‘A’ game with fall festivals and fun aplenty. Here is your guide to navigating the North Fork’s Fall Festivals with kids.

34th Annual Maritime Festival

Greenport Village

Saturday, Sept. 21, and Sunday, Sept. 22 

10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Presented by the East End Seaport Museum, the Annual Maritime Festival is a celebration of the North Fork’s maritime history and lifestyle. The festival weekend features the beloved Merry Merfolk parade (11 a.m. Saturday., 9/21), demonstrations, tall ship deck tours, boat and kayak races, crafts and activities, live music, food and beverage vendors, and craft and artisanal goods vendors. Harbes Fall Festivals & More

Mattituck, Jamesport, Riverhead

All three Harbes Farms are open for the fall season with a plethora of family fun at each. Apple picking and more are available daily at Harbes Orchard in Riverhead. Harbes Farm in Jamesport features apple picking, hay rides, jump pads, a corn maze, and more. And don’t miss the Pumpkin Festival at Harbes Family Farm in Mattituck on Sat., Sept. 28 and Sun., Sept. 29. U-pick pumpkins also start now! Admission for each farm varies, more info here.

Bakewicz Farms Fall Festival

Wading River

Every Saturday and Sunday from Sept. 14 to Oct. 27

9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Providing fun for the whole family, this Wading River fall festival features U-pick pumpkins, barnyard animals, playgrounds, hay rides and barrel train rides, adult beverages including pumpkin beer and hard cider at The Silo, roasted corn and snacks, food by Meats Meat, live music, face painting, a Frozen-themed corn maze, and character visits from 3 to 5 p.m. (Elsa, Anna, and Olaf on Saturdays, and Mickey and Minnie on Sundays). 43rd Annual Country Fair at Hallockville Museum Farm

Riverhead

Saturday, Sept. 28, and Sunday, Sept. 29

10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Annual Country Fair will welcome fairgoers to Hallockville Museum Farm for two days of historic home tours, tractor pulls and parades, skills demonstrations and exhibits, traditional children’s games and activities, pony rides and a petting zoo, baked goods and handcrafted wares for sale by over 35 vendors, food trucks, and so much more. Fall Festival at Waterdrinker North Fork

Riverhead

Wednesday through Sunday through October

Weekdays 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., weekends 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Pumpkin picking, sunflowers, and lots of family fun! Head to Waterdrinker North Fork for mini golf, a giant jump pad, a jungle greenhouse, corn maze, farm animals, a haunted house, and more! Admission is $15/person, free for children 2 and under. U-pick pumpkin fields are free to enter. More details here.

Fink’s Fall Harvest Fest

Wading River

Every Saturday and Sunday from Sept. 14 to Oct. 27, plus Monday, Oct. 14

9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Fink’s Fall Festival is in full effect with tons of attractions for kids and food and fun for adults. U-pick pumpkins also open plus hay rides and corn mazes. Admission costs $23/person for ages 3 and up. Complete list of Fink’s offerings here.

Oktoberfest

Downtown Riverhead

Saturday, Oct. 5

3 to 9 p.m.

Head to Grangebel Park in Riverhead for an afternoon and evening of German-inspired celebrations! Festival-goers will enjoy food, live music, local beer, costume contests, and more. This family-friendly event will also feature an illumination night by Reflextions Riverhead with a light art and sculpture exhibit throughout the park with the best viewing post-sunset. More details here. There is no charge for admission to Oktoberfest and all are welcome. 

Fall Festival at The Shoppes at East Wind

Wading River

Sunday, Sept. 29

11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Head to The Shoppes at East Wind for a day of live music with Southbound, crafts, vendors, food trucks, family fun, and more. Don’t forget to take a ride on the carousel while you’re there! Festival is free to attend.
