Five books for winter for kids of every age

Okay, the official reports are in! With more weeks of winter ahead now’s the perfect time to cozy up with a winter read.  Jocelyn LM Kaleita of A Book Place shares her picks on children's books to read this season. A retelling of a favorite classic set in the wintery Alaskan Arctic. With wonderful imagination and whimsy Brett's gorgeous art illustrates a new version of Alice's adventures among penguins, puffins, and some new snowy creatures.



Spy School: Goes North 

By Stuart Gibbs

Recommended level: Middle Grade

Gibbs delivers an adventure for middle grade readers that is suspenseful and exciting. Ben Ripley's rescue mission begins with rescuing one of his own from a remote Alaskan training facility. In addition to this main objective, the characters have to navigate love and diversity among their ranks. This series grows with its readers and absolutely will provide many talking points.
