Stroller Strong Mamas brings fitness and fun to Mattituck
Rachel Goodale always dreamed of having her own space. The Riverhead mother of two has created a community of like-minded, fitness-focused parents over the last 10+ years while leading mommy-and-me workout classes across the North Fork.
In 2012, Goodale left a career in education to become a certified fitness instructor. But it wasn't until the birth of her son Reece (now 8) that she began offering baby-wearing fitness classes. "I craved being around other moms," Goodale shared, and that's when Stroller Strong Mamas was born.
Until now, you could find her, along with other Stroller Strong instructors, at Riverhead's Stotzky Park, All Star Dance Academy in Wading River, and even in Goodale’s own backyard leading local parents through various workouts including pre- and postnatal fitness, circuit training, boot camp-styled classes, HIIT cardio, strength and core, yoga, and more, all with the kids in tow.
This month, Goodale expands east opening her new studio in Mattituck where Stroller Strong Mamas will house fitness classes and workshops. With an emphasis on building a parent community, Goodale hopes to create a space that fosters connection.
"This is what moms need," said Goodale. "To be in a community together where they can trade off advice and lead by example."
In addition to Stroller Strong Mamas' trusted fitness classes, the Mattituck space will offer toddler time sessions, sensory play, music classes, crafting workshops, and more.
Stroller Strong Mamas' official launch party is scheduled for Friday, Dec. 1 from 5 to 8 p.m. Be sure to register for this free, mama's only open house which will include an evening of bites, sips, raffles, and giveaways. Stroller Strong Mamas' Mattituck studio is located at 13105 Main Road, Mattituck.
Goodale will continue to offer classes and sessions at some of her existing locations.
