North Fork Nature Camps

  • Peconic Community Summer, Cutchogue

    DETAILS: Formerly Camp Wonder at Peconic Community School, this nature-centered, project-based, and arts-infused summer experience offers half-day options for 3 children years of age through 1st grade. Additionally, various elective options are available weekly for 2nd through 6th graders, such as sports, The Arts, swimming, and more! Learn more and register here.

    DATES: 6 weeks, July 1 - August 9, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. (aftercare available until 5 p.m. at an additional cost)

  • Hallockville Museum Farm, Riverhead

    DETAILS: Hallockville Museum Farm offers a day camp experience unlike anything else on the East End in an inspirational setting surrounding campers with 250 years of agricultural history where children will engage with daily life on the farm, history, and nature-based programming. Hallockville draws from a wide community of artists, craftspeople, and educators and each week offers a unique theme. Registration is open now. Learn more and register here.

    DATES: 7 weeks, July 1 - August 16, 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.

    COST: $450/week (multi-week and sibling discounts available) - Early-bird registration of $405/week ends on Jan. 31.

  • Turtleback Farm, Locations across the North Fork from Mattituck to Greenport

    DETAILS: A nature-based environmental education program held exclusively outdoors that incorporates conservation projects, sports, art, and cultural studies and is offered to three different age groups (see below). Themes vary weekly, see website for theme info, but favorite daily activities and routine procedures structure the day. Registration opens on January 19. Learn more and register here.

    DATES: 7 weeks, July 1 - August 16, 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.

    COST: $400/week

    AGES: “Osprey” for children entering grades 2-7

    DATES: July 1 - August 23, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. (aftercare available until 4 p.m. at an additional cost)

    AGES: “Eagles” for children entering grades 6-9

    DATES: July 8 - August 23, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. (aftercare available until 4 p.m. at an additional cost)

  • Long Island Aquarium, Riverhead

    DETAILS: For toddlers to teens, the Long Island Aquarium’s Adventure Days program adds interactive excitement to summer vacation. Children ages 3-16 can explore the wonders of the marine environment through age-appropriate learning and activities. A Tour Boat adventure, close encounters with marine creatures, the chance to catch fish on a deserted island – just some of the fun for children 8 and younger. Older kids can collect and identify marine specimens on the Tour Boat, climb the rock wall, go canoeing and kayaking, take a Shark Dive and Snorkel Adventure, and more! Registration opening soon.   • New York Marine Rescue Center, Riverhead

    DETAILS: NY Marine Rescue Center is offering two sessions of Junior Marine Rescuer Workshop where students can get an inside look at local marine life species and the rescue and rehabilitation that happens at NYMRC. More details and book here.
