Watermelon Festival at Harbes Family Farm

Cap off your summer during the sweetest harvest on Long Island! Harbes Annual Watermelon Festival returns on Saturday, August 24, and Sunday, August 25, from 10 am-7 pm. There will be plenty of watermelon to snack on and lots of fun, too!

Don’t miss the Watermelon Eating Contests which will be held in the Barnyard Adventure at 2:30 pm and 4:30 pm on both Saturday and Sunday. First come, first served. Participation limited. Must purchase Barnyard Adventure admission to participate.

Enjoy live music in the courtyard and picnic areas both days from 1 to 5 pm. Saturday, the farm welcomes Evan & James. Join this rising Long Island duo as they perform hits from the Beatles to today. Sunday, singer/guitarist Matt Taylor will be performing. Enjoy this versatile musical performer.

While you’re there, visit Harbes Barnyard Adventure for hours of family fun! Harbes Barnyard Adventure is an 8-acre, family-friendly experience for all ages. The Barnyard admission includes a Musical Hayride tour of the 100-acre farm and the famous pig races. There are also farm animals, the popular “Jumbo Jumpers” bounce pillows, a Sports Zone with baseball, football, and basketball tossing games, “Lil’ Farmers PlayLand” filled with lots of fun activities for preschoolers, a trike track, obstacle course, hedge maze, the musical animatronic chicken show, and much more. The family-friendly farm will also debut exciting new attractions for 2024!

Enjoy Harbes Vineyard wines in the farm’s restored 100-year-old Wine Barn. Tastings are offered and wine by the glass or bottle is available. Concession foods include roasted sweet corn, delicious tomato mozzarella paninis, a mouthwatering selection of homemade ice cream made with Harbes seasonal produce, and more!
