Seven spring break camps (plus workshops and events!) for your North Fork kid

If you’re looking for ways to keep your kids off the couch (and screens!) during the upcoming April spring break we have you covered with North Fork camps, workshops, and events you’ll feel good about.

Sharpen your soccer skills with North Fork United Soccer Club

In this spring break camp which runs from Monday, 4/22 through Thursday, 4/25 (with Friday, 4/26 as a rain date), athletes can expect expert coaching from certified trainers, skill-building drills and exercises, fun mini-games and challenges, team-building activities, exciting tournament and matches, and more. Located in Peconic at Jean Cochran Park, this camp which runs from 9:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. with drop-off opening at 9 a.m., is open to children of all skill levels birth years 2010 through 2016. Groups will be sorted by age and ability. Cost is $195 for all four days, $170 for three days, $120 for two days, and $65 for a single day. Register here

Paint the masters with VEME Studios

This spring break workshop from Greenport’s VEME Studios begins on Monday, April 22, and runs through Friday, April 25. Within these workshops, young artists, ages 5 - 15, will be guided through a creative journey of five iconic painters of the 20th century: Monday- Claude Monet, Tuesday- Frida Kahlo, Wednesday Pablo Picasso, Thursday- Vincent van Gogh, Friday- Jackson Pollock. Each day, the workshop will dive into the life and works of a different artist to gain inspiration, students will then engage in hands-on painting activities. Dive into day camp at Peconic Community School

During this week-long, full-day (9 a.m. to 3 p.m.) spring break camp offered by Peconic Community School at their new campus in Cutchogue, campers will enjoy North Fork-inspired activities and experiences such as investigating native ecosystems, getting inspired by local artists, or exploring the local downtown. This camp is offered to the public for 1st through 4th grade kids. Dates are Monday, 4/22 through Friday, 4/26. Cost is $800 for the full week. Learn more and register here

Create with East End Arts

Each day of spring break, East End Arts located in downtown Riverhead offers an engaging workshop for your creative North Fork kid, aged 5 through 13. On Monday, 4/22, kids will make a pressed flower pot, on Tuesday, 4/23, students will enjoy an acrylic painting workshop, on Wednesday, 4/24, kids will create fairy houses, on Thursday, 4/25, a watercolor workshop, and on Friday, 4/26, attendees will partake in mermaid bookmaking. Workshops run from 12:30 through 2 p.m. Cost varies for each session with East End Arts member’s discounts available. More details and register here

Take part in hands-on conservation projects with Turtleback Environmental Education Center

Calling all outdoorsy kids! This spring break camp is for you. Register your 7 - 14-year-old in Turtleback Environmental Education Center’s three-day-long spring camp (Tuesday, 4/23 - Thursday, 4/25), where North Fork campers will focus on conservation projects following Earth Day. Get a makeover and have some themed fun at Bella Anima Parties

Drop by Bella Anima Parties located within The Shoppes at East Wind in Wading River each day from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. during spring break, Monday, April 22 through Friday, April 26, for themed makeovers and play! Themes include Mermaids and pirates, unicorns and dragons, Barbie and Ken, Stuff-A-Pet, and Taylor (Swift) and (Travis) Kelce. Within each session, kids of all genders can expect face paint, glitter tattoos, lemonade, an on-theme play element, and more. Cost and specific details vary. Dabble in all the sports at At Gym Days Multisport 

Gym Days Multisport will offer a full-week spring break camp that runs from Monday, 4/22 to Friday, 4/26 from 9 a.m. until noon for children ages 5 - 12. The camp will explore the sports of soccer, tennis, basketball, floor hockey, football, volleyball, and more in both a gymnasium and turf field setting at the NoFo Wellness Center in Cutchogue.
