Summer series for the youngest in tow

While the North Fork is overspilling with summer camps, most are geared towards children ages 5 and up. But for the youngest North Forkers, there is still plenty to do to fill the long summer days. From music to movement, check out these five programs designed with the most petite in mind.

To get them moving

What: Creative Movement — a movement-based class with a focus on learning letters, colors, shapes, and numbers. Weekly themes and props will be used to hold engagement.

Where: Inspire Dance Centre, Southold

For: Ages 2-4 

When: Saturdays from June 22 through July 30 from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m.

Cost: $75 for all or $20 per class

To encourage them to explore their senses

What: Summer Sensory Play hosted by Little Moments, Little Fam. Sessions will include 45 minutes of sensory play stations nestled in a flower farm.

Where: Horton’s Flower Farm, Riverhead

For: Ages 1+

When: Tuesdays at 10 a.m. and Wednesdays at 10 a.m. and 11:15 a.m.

Cost: $33/session, siblings $27/session

To let them be social

What: Summer Social Group — Led by a certified speech-language pathologist, this 6-week program will get your kiddo kindergarten-ready with a specialized focus on social communication.

Where: Baiting Hollow, exact address upon registration (also offered in Westhampton)

For: Children going into Kindergarten in the fall

When: Tuesdays, July 9 through August 13, two class options: 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. or 11:30 to 12:30 p.m.

Cost: $300 for the full session

To make some music with your mini

What: Mini Mozarts — Enjoy singalongs, guided sensory movement, experimenting with instruments, basic rhythm, learning, and more in this fun and interactive music class.

Where: The Vine at North Fork UMC, Southold

For: Ages 0-3

When: Tuesdays, July 9 through 30 from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m.

Cost: $35/drop-in class

To enjoy parent-and-me time

What: Toddler Time — Music and sensory-led activities run by a speech-language pathologist with a focus on language, peer interaction, and sensory play.

Where: Breeze Hill Farm, Peconic

For: 18-24 months

When: six consecutive Mondays from July 1 through August 5 at 9:30 to 10:15 a.m.

Cost: $275 for the full session
