With Kids: Fourth of July Parades and Fireworks

From small-town parades to street-long festivals, there are plenty of festivities to celebrate the Fourth with kids on the North Fork.

74th Annual Riverhead Raceway Fourth of July Celebration

Saturday, June 29 from 6 to 11 p.m. at Riverhead Raceway, Riverhead

Attendees will enjoy demolition derby, kids’ big wheels race, street stock, and more. Doors open at 4 p.m., fireworks at 9 p.m. $30 adult admission. $10 for ages 6 to 12, under 6 free.

Greenport Fire Department’s Annual Carnival

Tuesday, July 2 to Saturday, July 6 from 6 to 11 p.m. with fireworks on 7/3 and 7/6 at 10 p.m. Moore’s Lane, Greenport

Classic carnival complete with fireworks. This annual family-friendly event is held at the Moore’s Lane Polo Grounds in Greenport.

Fourth of July Celebration at Harbes Family Farm

Thursday, July 4 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Friday, July 5 through Sunday, July 7 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Harbes Family Farm, Mattituck

Listen to live tunes each day from 1 to 5 p.m., sip award-winning wine, dine on food, snacks, and sweets, and visit Harbes Barnyard Adventure — an 8-acre family-fun experience, admission required.

26th Annual Southold Village Merchants' July 4 Parade 

Thursday, July 4 at noon at Main Road, Southold

This North Fork community parade kicks off on Main Road and Boisseau Avenue in Southold and makes its way to the Southold American Legion at Tuckers Lane.

42nd Annual New Suffolk Fourth of July Parade

Thursday, July 4 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Tuthill Road and New Suffolk Road to Main Street, New Suffolk

All are invited to join this sweet small-town parade — antique cars, small boats on trailers, bicycles, wagons, strollers, floats of any kind, etc.! Line-up at 10:30 a.m. at the corner of Tuthill Road and New Suffolk Road. Once at New Suffolk Beach, parade attendees are welcome to gather for the annual reading of the Declaration of Independence, refreshments, and more. 

Alive on 25 Summer Street Festival

Friday, July 5 at 5:30 p.m. with fireworks at 9 p.m. along East Main Street, Riverhead

Located in Downtown Riverhead, this street festival offers live music on multiple stages, outdoor dining and drinks, performances, artisans, vendors, and a fireworks display at 9 p.m.


Orient Harbor Fireworks

Saturday, July 6 at dark over Orient Harbor, Orient

After a year-long hiatus, this fireworks event is fully funded by private donations. Fireworks by Grucci begin at dark. Raindate is Sunday, July 7.
